Gama Family Educational Compound Word Socks

I believe, as a parent, that helping to teach our children the important skills in life is one of the best things we can do for our kids. It not only helps them grow and learn, but it also is a great way to create a lasting bonding experience for them to look back on throughout the years. Our little girl, Giselle, is 5 years old and currently in her first year of school in Kindergarten. She is so bright and so smart, but sometimes she is more of a visual learner than she is a verbal learner.

So when it comes to learning words and sentences, I knew she would need a little extra help on our end to really get a better understanding of how some words are created, such as compound words! Compound words are words that are created by taking two different words and combining them into one! The word I chose for Giselle was "butterfly." I chose this word because she is, of course, a little girly girl and loves pretty animals like butterflies! The pictures on the socks are one of a butterfly and also a few of the individual words, like cubes of butter and little flies buzzing around. I love this concept because, I myself, am a very visual learner. It is a lot easier to grasp something when you can place a photograph with it in your mind.

The graphics and designs of the socks are very bright and colorful! They demand your attention and make you want to discover all of the images imprinted on it. This is a really great way to keep your child focused on the learning aspect of these socks, because they are both fun and functional! The socks come in a variation of other different words to choose from as well. They are also available in two different sizes. One being 3-5 years of age and the other being 6-8 years of age. They are made from a cotton and nylon blend and are quite comfortable to wear. These socks will also retain their shape and size when machine washed and dried.
